Nearly 100 social care workers interested in working in Australia attended an event run by Healthcare Locums (HCL) in London last night.
Last night’s fact-finding event at the Australian High Commission was attended by 85 qualified social workers and social care professionals interested in exploring temporary and permanent positions in Victoria and the Northern Territory.
Andrew Anastasiou, head of HCL Social Care International, says: “With their transferable skills, social workers are increasingly forming a global workforce, with the ambition and wherewithal to work wherever they want in the world. More than any other professional, social workers are uniquely placed to drive positive change in their communities and working environments by sharing the knowledge they gain from experiencing other healthcare systems.
“It was encouraging to see such a diverse mix of professionals here last night, from younger professionals hoping to broaden their life experience by spending a few months working abroad, to older social workers looking to start a new life.”
