Agency back from liquidation

Recruitment to recruitment firm Heywood Associates Limited has reopened following a spell in liquidation caused by six-figure bad debts.

The London-based agency filed for voluntary liquidation on 19 November and its directors have reacquired the company's name and goodwill.

Director Simon Gee explained: "During 2002 and early 2003, Heywood Associates Limited suffered substantial six figure bad debts following the liquidation of a number of clients both in the UK and overseas.

"Although profitable on a month-by-month basis, the business struggled to meet its on-going obligations."

The new look Heywood Associates Limited will focus on recruitment to recruitment – placing recruitment consultants working in fields including accountancy, banking, insurance and HR.

It will also have an executive search recruitment business, Heywood Search, focusing on introducing researchers, consultants and partners to headhunters in the UK.

The firms will operate from newly refurbished offices in High Holborn. Gee's other firm, Heywood Associates, which provides details of newly-qualified accountants to recruitment agencies, will remain unaffected.
