Indeed's new tool enables free CV search

Job board Indeed.com has made it easier for recruiters to find talent on its site with the launch of a free search engine for CVs.

Earlier in the year it launched a resumé tool for US jobseekers. Unfortunately, it has not developed one for the UK market but the new search tool is of value to UK recruiters involved in global recruitment campaigns or who are searching for US talent.

Chris Hyams, Indeed’s vice-president of product, said the intention is to make it as fast and simple for employers to search for CVs as it is jobseekers to look for jobs, and stressed there were no subscription or upfront costs. You simply key in a job role and geographical area and a list of candidates pops up. Scrolling over these brings up a snapshot of the CV in the same window and you can click to view it in full.

Contact details of the candidate remain private until they choose to release it to an employer who has shown an interest via a contact button beside the CV, which is also free-of-charge. Indeed told Recruiter that it can verify the phone number and address associated with an employer account.

Worldwide, Indeed has more than 50m unique visitors and 1bn job searches a month take place on the site.
