Government-registered jobs created in October totalled 126,143, compared with 209,078 the previous month, according to Labour Ministry figures.
This is lower than the 167,178 figure predicted by Bloomberg economists.
Having wavered around 10% for most of the previous decade, Brazil’s unemployment rate now stands at 6%, or 11.7m people.
