The number of foreign workers in China rose by nearly 4% between 2009 and 2010, according to Xinhuanet.com

Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security figures showed 231,700 foreigners working in China at the end of 2010.

Carter Yang, managing director for China of multi-sector recruiter Robert Walters, told Xinhuanews.net that an increasing number of Chinese companies are able to offer relocation packages to overseas workers.

Yang added that financial services, pharmaceuticals and retail sectors are showing notable growth in the country.
