International: Jetstar Japan to create around 800 jobs
New budget airline Jetstar Japan is to create around 800 jobs, according to a company spokesperson.
Earlier this week the Qantas Group, Japan Airlines Co (JAL) and Mitsubishi Corporation announced the launch of the new domestic airline.
Jetstar Japan starts domestic operations at the end of 2012 and expects to fly from Tokyo (Narita) and Osaka (Kansai International), with other destinations under consideration including Sapporo, Fukuoka and Okinawa. Jetstar Japan also plans to eventually offer short haul international services to other key Asian cities.
A Jetstar Japan spokesperson told Recruiter that recruitment for select positions was already underway: “The full range of positions from cabin crew, pilots, engineers, management and administration will be created. We are yet to confirm our bases as yet.”
