South African unemployment dropped by nearly 1% in Q2 2011, reports newspaper Business Day.

There was a net increase in jobs of 193,000 over the period, an increase of 1.5% compared to the previous quarter.

Business Day reports construction, mining, trade and business and financial services lead the way in terms of job creation, with the manufacturing sector flat.
