It’s communication but not as we know it
FOOF, thank goodness that’s all over. And who’s in need of a good phlogging after last night’s political posterings?

If you think politicians come out with incomprehensible jargon, then communication professionals are not that far behind.
Believe it or not, ‘phlogging’, or phone blogging to give it its correct term, is the latest technology being used to close the communication gap between leaders and employees. So heard more than 150 communcation professionals at an event hosted by training and research firm Melcrum in London.
Dr Cheuk, global head of knowledge and information at Environmental Resources Management (ERM), said it had changed the way senior leaders collect insights from staff, and the way they communicate and share ideas, helping to define the organisation’s strategy and future vision. Right…
Apparently ERM uses ipadio’s phlogging service for ‘CEO jam’ — a best practice sharing session between executives and employees. (No, we don’t know what that means either…)
And Nick Terry, managing director at Top Banana, and David Porter, Focus On Our Future co-ordinator at Aggregate Industries, presented Melcrum’s members with ‘FOOF’ – a campaign that saved the construction company more than £30m during the height of the recession.
Mmm. Still think politicians don’t know what they’re talking about?
