Site becomes UK’s number one for recruitment
The Jobcentre Plus website received a record number users in the first
quarter of 2006, making it the UK’s number one recruitment site, the
Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) says.
The DWP says more than five million weekly searches were recorded in the
first quarter of 2006.
Searches have doubled in the past year as more than
one and a half million users logged onto the site during the last week of
March 2006, compared to up to 700,000 during the same week last year.
Jim Murphy, minister for Employment and Welfare Reform, says: “I’m really
pleased to see so many people making use of the website. We want to make the
most developments such as this to help continue getting people back into
work.”
