Commenting on offers of work for envelope stuffers, Tony Finn-Ford, managing director of job board JobPlace, told Recruiter: “If you are working from home and you are asked to invest, and you are only getting 1p per envelope you stuff, then you are going to have to stuff a hell of a lot of envelopes to even make the minimum wage. Let common sense prevail and stay away from it.”
Job board Jobs 1 states on its website: “There are lots of scams out there, especially involving making products from home, where you initially have to purchase equipment or an assembly kit. Avoid these types of home working jobs unless you are 100% sure about them.
“Adverts about addressing and stuffing envelopes that are then followed by a demand for a registration fee are often a scam. All you will get is advice to place an advert like the one you just saw.”
