Badenoch & Clark plans to grow Judd Farris' international branch network after buying the property specialist last month.

In an exclusive interview with Recruiter, Badenoch & Clark managing director Neil Wilson confirmed that international expansion was on the agenda for Judd Farris, which won Best International Recruitment Firm in Recruiter's 2007 Awards for Excellence.

"We will probably look to grow the brand more internationally than domestically," said Wilson, adding that the acquisition gave Badenoch & Clark a platform to expand its services into the Australian and Asian markets through Farris' existing presence there.

The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed, although it appears rumours that Farris cost as much as £35m are untrue. "I don't know where that figure came from," Wilson said, although he refused to say whether the actual amount was higher or lower.

Judd Farris was established in 1998 and specialises in the placement of experienced property professionals and managers in a variety of disciplines including planning and regeneration, architecture, facilities management and building services.

Its client list includes leading retailers, developers, financial institutions, property and construction companies, and public sector organisations.

"Judd Farris were looking to sell the business and they fit in with our strategy of dealing with high-value professionals," explained Wilson.

"They are a niche business in a growing niche and a quality organisation with good growth prospects."
