The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) is asking recruiters for help in increasing the skills of the workforce and getting more people into work.
Gillian Miller, skills director at the LSC North East, says: “We would like to gain a better understanding of the types of activities that recruitment and employment agencies have taken part in, or would be interested in doing, and the conditions under which they could become more involved in our agenda to increase the skills of the workforce and get more people into work.
“We are looking for examples of good practice from across the country and also to gain understanding of the activities such agencies feel that they could add most value to.
“While this project is focused on the North East region, we hope that our findings will influence policy and practice nationally.”
