Recruitment in low-cost areas of travel continues to go on as holidaymakers seek the best deal, according to travel recruiters.

Ian Brooks, director at Gail Kenny Executive Search, told Recruiter, that low-cost carriers were prospering in the downturn.

“Easyjet reported a 25% increase in business last week for the past quarter and also added some new routes for the summer.

“The Northern based low-cost airline Jet2 also announced impressive profit figures last month for its interim results posting a near 100% increase in profit. Both are continuing to expand and recruit. Also the cruise sector is reported to have had a good start to 2009.”

Julia Feuell, managing director at New Frontiers, adds: “Cruises are all inclusive and they are all in pounds. Everything you have got, you spend in pounds.

“Anything that is all inclusive is doing really well.”
