I read the Soapbox in 10 December 2008 issue of Recruiter, ‘Dubai is not paved with gold’, with interest. The article reveals some very realistic facts about the recruitment industry, highlighting that almost everyone is facing the so-called ‘credit crunch’. (Ed: see also his issue’s Soapbox, left.)

Countries, such as the US, have ceased the recruitment process in some sectors altogether. Today, people are moving from the UK to the Middle East. I don’t believe it is particularly the right choice. One needs to be patient; work hard and smart to get out of this period and run your business more strongly in 2009. I wish all the recruiters in the UK the best of luck!
