Network Rail favours flexible approach

Recruiters have been urged to take a flexible approach to recruitment by Adrian Thomas, head of resourcing at Network Rail.

Thomas told Recruiter: “For the vast majority of our vacancies we try to reach out to the candidate directly. When we do use agencies we want them to be flexible on their service offering. Often we just want to map other companies or to have an initial introduction – our in-house recruitment team then take over. It’s more than just margins. Agencies need to evaluate if they have got their service offering right.”
