New site makes job matching more relevant
A new job matching website that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to read CVs will eliminate most “applicant noise” created by job applications from inappropriate candidates, its founders predict.
The difference between MyJobMatcher.com from UK entrepreneurs Opinio Group and aggregator job boards is that the former’s applicants are prequalified for specific types of jobs, leading to “a real high level of relevance and integrity” between candidate and job, founder and managing director Chris Smith told Recruiter.
“If I am an IT help desk support person, I see IT help desk support roles,” Smith explained of the new service. “With the traditional aggregator, if I am an IT help desk support person, I can apply to be an accountant even though I am not an accountant. That creates a lot of application noise which distorts and causes chaos in terms of the integrity that’s delivered to the job originator, be it a recruitment agency or a direct client.”
Candidates upload their CVs to MyJobMatcher.com, then immediately receive a list of links to relevant jobs from leading and niche UK job boards. Each day after, the candidate receives an email delivering the best daily job matches. The AI technology matching job and CV base the matches only on the information on the CV.
Live since May, MyJobMatcher.com also incorporates what Smith refers to as “a degree of geo-positioning” so that, for instance, UK users only see UK jobs. “We want to make it a little bit easier for the jobseekers to find the best job and we want to make it a little bit easier for the job boards to get applications with greater integrity,” Smith said.
The website earns revenue from job boards paying MyJobMatcher.com each time a candidate applies for one of their jobs, “so we get paid on a pay-per-click basis basically”, technical director Arran Stewart told Recruiter.
