Macallam finds good home for industry bigwig Prendergast

Construction and property recruitment company Macallam has appointed Steve Prendergast as its new managing director.

Prendergast joins the company from engineering and construction firm Costain International, where he also held the position of managing director.

“With the construction industry facing strangulation by a lack of skilled executives, the industry and recruiters have to reach new levels of understanding,” said Pendergast.

His industry experience is exemplified by his advisory work with several government bodies, including the Valuation Office Agency and UK Trade & Investment.

Duncan Carter, director of Macallam, believes industry insight is essential to achieving a competitive edge. “Steve is a true industry heavyweight and is ideal to offer a unique and informed service to clients. The insight achieved from people who know the sector first-hand is invaluable and gives us a real edge over competitors.”
