Procter & Gamble (P&G) is organising two virtual career fairs to offer students a sense of what it would be like to work in a leading global organisation.
The fairs, to be held on 21 October and early next year, give students the chance to meet with P&G managers and recruiters from across Western Europe. Students are also able network with peers, watch P&G videos, as well as directly apply for vacancies.
In 2009 more than 1,200 students attended the fair interacting with more than 200 P&G representatives.
Giorgio Siracusa, P&G general manager human resource Western Europe, says: “This is such a great way for students interested in P&G to get to know us. It moves away from the traditional recruitment approach and is another step for us to engage with Gen Y students. It’s taken recruitment to a new level and is proving very successful in attracting top talent.”
Meanwhile P&G has been testing alternative methods for recruitment, for example using audio conferencing for interviews. P&G also uses real-time virtual business gaming in its recruitment efforts and launched a new game called “P&G&U” in 2009.
