P&G's two-way virtual assessment

Procter & Gamble (P&G) is hoping that its virtual careers fairs aimed at Western Europe will not only enable it to assess candidates but also that candidates will be able to decide whether the company is right for them.

P&G plans to stage two fairs in the coming months with the first taking place on 21 October between 1-7pm and another in February or March.

Madalyn Brooks, HR director, P&G UK & Ireland, told Recruiter: “Recruitment needs to be a two-way assessment. We need to assess candidates and decide if they are the right person and have the right fit for the company but they need to do the same with P&G and decide whether we have the right values and are the right fit for them.”

She added: “It’s a case of going beyond the salary. This provides us with a fantastic opportunity to get our message out to students on their terms, where they’re most comfortable and receptive. So the great thing is the scale and depth of interaction we can achieve.”

The virtual fairs form just one strand of P&G’s online and offline recruitment activities over the coming year.
