Despite public sector cuts, jobseekers have continued to search for jobs in the civil service, according to a report from social marketing agency Greenlight.
The latest report reveals the term ‘civil service jobs’ was searched for 33,100 times in September.
Meanwhile, the report also shows keyword ‘apprenticeships’ was searched for 60,500 times which could indicate many jobseekers are looking for opportunities that provide skills and qualifications in a depressed jobs market.
There were 1.4m online job-related searches in the month. Job title-specific terms dominated searches, accounting for 45% of the total search volume while London and Manchester cumulatively accounted for the most regional searches of 18% and 7% respectively.
