Retail and sales recruiter R³ Resourcing, short-listed for Best Retail Recruitment Company and Best Small Firm to Work For at the Recruiter Awards, has appointed co-founder Kevin Edmonds as chairman.

Edmonds rejoins the board after two and a half years spent setting up the Dubai-based recruiter Gulf Six, where he will continue as chief executive.

Current chief executive Daniel Cornwell, is to stand down after five years, with the UK operation managed by Edmonds alongside UK managing director Alison Tawn.

Outgoing chief executive Cornwell says: “I am proud of what I and my teams have achieved in the last five years but at this stage in R³’s development the board and I felt a new impetus was needed and that Kevin and Alison would provide stability, consistency and a real platform for growth. Following our recent nominations for the RecruiterAwards and our IIP accreditation I feel the time is right for me to pursue the other business opportunities and personal challenges I crave.”
