RIG Healthcare gets to burn rubber on Race of Champions’ track

RIG Healthcare spent a day at Wembley Stadium, racing on the tarmac track laid out for the world famous Race of Champions, which took place yesterday.

On the same track that Michael Schumacher, David Coulthard and Jenson Button were burning rubber, a team of 10 from RIG were able to pit their driving skills against a fast track and a professional team from Mitsubishi Ralliart - the team that won the Dakar Rally for the last seven years. RIG’s team were slowed a little by the rain but not David Thomas from RIG Social Care, who posted the second fastest lap time against a host of rally drivers and racing professionals. The team had to race against the other team for two hours in a Le Mans style endurance race, where the drivers interchange regularly.

RIG Healthcare won a competition between the RIG companies for the top performance in the month of November. As a result, RIG arranged for their team to travel to Wembley, enter Wembley Stadium through the Players Entrance, change in the players changing rooms and enter trackside through the Players Tunnel. A dream for most footy fans.
