A website company set up to offer work experience and internships to jobseekers is offering recruiters a way of making money from their candidate pool.

Robin Kennedy, co-founder of WEXO: Work Experience Online www.wexo.co.uk told Recruiter that he was prepared to pay agencies 20% of the £10 one-off membership fee for their candidates. This could be effected through Wexo’s relationship with affiliate marketing company, Affiliate Windows.

Once registered, recruiters’ candidates would be able to access opportunities for internships, work experience and jobs from around 300 companies. These include Sony Music, Dunhill and Conde Nast.

“Internships and work experience will enhance the career prospects of recruitment agencies’ candidates pool, and make them more marketable in today’s tough economic environment,” says Kennedy. It also provides agencies with another option for their candidate pool when there are more jobseekers and fewer jobs to go round.

“There are some phenomenal people out there because the whole country is clamping down on recruitment,” he adds.

In the future, Kennedy says he envisages a situation, where if recruiters’ candidates who register through agencies are placed into work, the agency would receive a fee, although the precise details would be “subject to negotiation”.
