Recruiters too slow to get on the phone
The industry has been slow to adopt mobile recruitment technology and realise that such technology is “essential”, says Mike Taylor, founder of Web-Based Recruitment.
Taylor says: “There seems to be a general lack of awareness that it is becoming essential to have some form of mobile strategy. More and more jobseekers are expecting to be able to search and apply for jobs on their mobile phone in the same way as they would expect to be able to do their shopping and banking using their mobile phone.”
With increasing numbers of jobseekers receiving job alerts on their mobile phones which will not then be able to display a full website correctly, Taylor warns this will be a “frustrating” experience that suggests that recruiters “don’t care” about candidate experience.
