Candidates should consider how to apply their skills to the green energy sector to take advantage of the government-driven job creation, according to recruiters.

Candidates should consider how to apply their skills to the green energy sector to take advantage of the government-driven job creation, according to recruiters.

John Robinson, managing director of technical recruiter Scantec, says: “The recession is wreaking havoc with the jobs market and it is vital workers think about how they can transfer their skills to other sectors.”

Robinson explained candidates in job roles such as engineering, architects, financiers and plumbers have skills which are applicable to the energy sector.

Andrew Cartland, managing director of  green jobs recruiter Acre, told Recruiter: “Green jobs is an area which is opening up and drawing people in. For example, climate change lawyers, software experts, engineers and energy efficient technology are all in demand.”
