Current jobseekers need to ask potential employer questions surrounding the company’s financial stability to safeguard their own long-term job security, according to Andrew Hardaker, managing director of construction and engineering recruiter ATA Selection.
Hardaker says: “No-one wants to start a job and find out months down the line that it vanishes from under their feet.
“Not only is it a bitter disappointment, but it can make a huge difference as to how effectively someone progresses in their career.”
ATA Selection suggests recruiters could run credit checks on the company so candidates are reassured that when they are sent for interviews the job will have sound prospects.
“Running credit checks is a costly and time-consuming exercise and simply not feasible for candidates to take on themselves,” adds Hardaker.
