Thomas Ashdown, the Edinburgh businessman behind the Citylets residential lettings portal, has launched a new recruitment venture.

Jobs In Letting (JIL) is aimed at matching property people with appropriate vacancies.

Ashdown told the Scotsman: "I was aware that there was considerable dissatisfaction with the agencies that were trying to place candidates into this sector. My own experience had been less than positive too, but this business opportunity was identified years before that as a natural progression."
