Recruitment is not a sales job - at last, someone who speaks sense!

I am writing regarding ’The importance of interviewing - it’s not a tick box exercise!’ (Recruiter, Bloggers with bite, 28 April). At last a blogger with real bite who also makes sense.

I spend a lot of time looking at the websites of recruitment agencies and ’the work for us’ section always talks about a sales-based position. There is never, never any mention of interviews, people skills or any aspect of being a recruitment consultant. I have also been a candidate seen by recruitment consultants who frankly did not have a clue as to my skill sets, motivations or desires: they just wanted to ’sell a job’.

So I say, well done Alex and let’s have more please.
