The US Army failed to meet its monthly recruitment goal in May for the first time in eight months, according to the US Defence Department. The Army took on 5,101 recruits in May, 7% short of its goal. "May is historically a difficult time of year to attract new soldiers," said spokeswoman Major Anne Edgecomb.
