A third of jobseekers say HR handled their redundancy badly and 90% would not hesitate to tell others about their experience, according to research from career planning service Careerplan4.me.

The survey of over 1,000 jobseekers also found that a quarter of those made redundant have a very poor perception of their employer, while half have a poor or indifferent view.

Richard Banks, co-founder at Careerplan4.me, says: “While many HR departments and employers are rising to the challenge of making redundancies as well as possible, far too many aren’t, which potentially leaves those made redundant with damaging views about the organisation.”
