Multi-sector recruiter Reed is planning to expand its presence in the UAE after success in the emirate of Qatar.

Maria Brown, associate director of the Middle East at Reed Specialist Recruitment, told Recruiter the company’s Qatar office had grown from a single person operation to 15 people in two years.

“We have an aggressive growth pattern in front of us and we are keen to replicate the success of year one [since the company obtained a license to operate a business there]. This includes our expansion into Abu Dhabi and other areas of the United Arab Emirates.”

Steve Williams, country manager at Reed Qatar, told Recruiter the company’s international presence had helped win business and source candidates.

“The economy in Qatar is still expected to grow this year but not by as much as in the past. There are still sectors here that will be strong for recruiters like; education, healthcare and energy. There are also sectors in decline; banking, financial services and construction.”
