Survey reveals that clients believe agencies are responsible for motivating staff

Clients believe responsibility for motivating temporary staff lies with the agency, according to a survey by public sector recruiter Step Ahead.

The survey found that staff ranked hourly pay rates as the most important factor in creating and maintaining job satisfaction. Other factors include interesting work and holiday pay.

Jackie Bedford of Step Ahead says: “Temps bring valuable experience from other organisations, giving them more interesting work to do makes a great deal of sense.”

The research also found 80% of temps rated development opportunities more important than help and support.
