Motorway service operator (MSA) Roadchef is to create more than 400 jobs as part of a multi-million pound investment programme to regenerate its entire estate over the next five years.
The redevelopment will cause headcount to increase by 20%, while the next two years sees £12m spent on overhauling catering facilities at 10 key sites with further upgrades at the remaining service areas set to take place thereafter.
As part of the investment programme, which has already began at Clacket Lane Services on the M25, McDonald’s will replace existing Wimpy outlets in the quick-serve restaurant brand’s first ever-corporate franchise agreement as part of a 20-year deal.
Also as part of the refurbishment, Costa Coffee outlets across the entire estate will be upgraded, while units at 10 key sites will be re-located to more spacious and prominent areas in the buildings.
