Scottish recruitment appears relatively healthy, with 54% of Scottish employers currently hiring at managerial level, according to be Antal International’s Global Snapshot survey for the winter of 2008/09.
This compares with 28% of UK organisations overall, which are hiring at managerial level.
The survey found that across the UK managers with sales and marketing experience are most in demand, with 35% of those in the sector expecting to hire during the next quarter.
“The global financial situation has certainly had an effect on the jobs market here” says Adam Kaye who, runs Antal’s operations in the UK.
“Hiring activity is down from the last quarter but only by a modest 3% so the underlying employment market seems relatively stable at the moment.
“The fact that fewer companies plan to let people go in the near future is encouraging and suggests that UK business is cautiously waiting to see what the coming months have in store.”
