The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has launched a new guide designed to help improve the performance of recruiters in difficult times.
The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has launched a new guide designed to help improve the performance of recruiters in difficult times.
The new guide entitled ‘7 Secrets of Successful Recruiters’ is based on detailed interviews with high billing recruitment consultants, and is intended to provide practical advice.
The seven qualities shared by the high billing consultants are:
- Seeing it through
- Doing the deal
- Keeping on track
- Nothing but the best
- Empathy
- Instinct for business
- Staying ahead
Over and above this, the final and overriding quality of successful recruiters is their love of recruitment. “This is a strong theme of all recruiters and easy to spot,” says the guide, which was produced by the REC’s Industry Research Unit.
Commenting on the guide, Roger Tweedy, the REC’s director of research, says: “This is very much a self-help guide to support ambitious recruiters to fulfil their career aspirations. Because of the demands of the modern-day recruitment industry, those who want to aspire need to be confident, driven and above-all well-rounded individuals with an impressive range of people and business-related skills.”
Elsewhere, the REC has launched a new guide offering advice on how recruiters can survive and thrive in the recession.
Based on views on experienced recruiters, the report highlights the need for recruiters to stick to the highest possible professional standards, deliver excellent service and stay realistic on costs.
