Staffline announces lower profits

Net profits  for the year ended 31 December 2008 fell to £2.34m at multi-sector recruiter Staffline, compared to £3m in 2007.

Net profits  for the year ended 31 December 2008 fell to £2.34m at multi-sector recruiter Staffline, compared to £3m in 2007.

Profit before taxation was £3.38m, down from £4.37m in the previous year.

Revenues rose to £120.8m, from £119.9m in 2007.

Commenting on the results, Andy Hogarth, chairman and chief executive at Staffline, says: “We are continuing to see strong demand for new OnSites [employees on-site], particularly in the food processing sector and, while we expect the recession to provide a tough economic backdrop in the markets where we operate, we remain confident that our model will allow us to operate profitably and to grow our marketshare.

Speaking to Recruiter Hogarth said the number of OnSites had increased from 101 in 2008 to 112 in 2009, adding the company was able to win new deals because it was able to demonstrate it is financially sound.
