Employers warned to make special provisions for temps who are four times as likely to be injured at work
Employers using temporary staff have been warned to take care of staff as the holiday season approaches.
Workers are more likely to be injured during their first month at a job than at any other time, according to the Health and Safety Executive’s Workplace Heath Connect.
The organisation warns that businesses seeking more staff to meet seasonal demand should protect themselves and staff by conducting regular risk assessments in which they make staff aware of any potential heath and safety hazards.
These assessments should take into account the special problems temps may face, it said.
