Take ‘broad’ approach to top graduate talent

Employers need to take a broad approach to recruiting top graduate talent, according to HSBC’s head of diversity, Mary Walsh.

Employers need to take a broad approach to recruiting top graduate talent, according to HSBC’s head of diversity, Mary Walsh.

At a graduate recruitment roundtable, supported by Michael Page International, the Employers’ Forum on Age and Recruiter, Walsh said employers can miss out on top graduates by focussing their recruitment too narrowly and urged employers to widen their search to include those from untapped parts of the community.

The event was attended by a number of diversity professionals from a number of top UK companies including BT, McDonalds and Santander.
