“Fewer teachers were being put into work,” says Dean Kelly chief executive officer of Synarbor, adding “I would expect we are probably looking at close to two days lost revenue across the company”.
Kelly told Recruiter that consultants have been pulling out all the stops, with some getting into work between 5am and 6am “to meet the morning rush”. Offices in locations such as Scunthorpe, Sheffield and Peterborough have “been particularly hit by the weather”, adds Kelly
“It’s a killer,” says London-based education recruiter, Craig Boucher. “Basically, it was two days when our business closed down.
“Clearly schools do what is best for their community, and we just try to help them as best we can,” he adds. However, things are now starting to return to normal, he says, with more schools opening than earlier in the week.
