The number of split fee arrangement between The Employment Agencies Movement (TEAM) members has risen by around a third this year, according to Liz Longman, UK director of the independent recruiters’ network.
Longman told Recruiterthat TEAM members had agreed 600,000 split fee arrangement this year compared with around 400,0000 last year.
Longman said that split fee arrangements were becoming more common, because they provided both agencies and clients with significant advantages.
“Generalist agencies can go to a specialist, say an IT agency, and that [generalist] agency can fill the vacancy because they can call on the specialist recruiter’s knowledge,” said Longman.
Clients can also go to a TEAM member to fill more of their vacancies, for example a secretary and a finance director, she added.
Split fee arrangements also allowed for candidate, say in Scotland, to be interviewed in Kent.
The fee is usually split 50:50 for a 50:50 split of the work, however, agencies could work this out for themselves on a case by case basis, said Longman.
