Technology allows “fluid attitude” _2

Some workers still prefer the office

Evolving technology will allow a “much more fluid attitude” toward work in years to come — but workers will not shift entirely to plying their trade from home, according to employment ‘futurist’ Richard Reeves.

Speaking at a seminar on online recruitment in London Thursday, Richard Reeves said that instead of opting to work only from an office or from home, “more people will do both”.

Reeves also said that online recruitment has yet to solve the problem of being able to able to determine strong job-to-person matches in soft skills, such as fitting into a particular office culture.
An organisation’s needs will ultimately have to be codeified in order for an online recruitment system to make appropriate matches, he said.

The seminar at which Reeves spoke was sponsored by Monster UK.
