People will continue to go on holiday in 2009, according to travel recruiters.

A new survey from holiday booking website travelsupermarket.com shows that the average number of holidays planned this year will increase to 1.8 from 1.5.

Nina Johnson Bennett, managing director at Management Search Executive, told Recruiter that an increase in the number of holidays would be fuelled by people looking for the ‘feel good factor’.

“People will downgrade their holidays in terms of the amount that they would spend per head. In terms of recruitment, it is not going to produce more jobs. What it might do is prevent loss of jobs.”

Jason Blayne, director at T&T Training Solutions, adds: “I don’t think people will stop their holidays because there is so much variety that they can choose from. There are so many opportunities in the UK and in the US. If you are quick off the mark, the deals are out there.”
