IT recruiter UKStaff.co.uk is using new ‘Ultra Thin Client Computing’ to replace standard desktop PCs in a bid to generate 85% cuts in CO2 emissions.

This innovative desktop technology saves around 10 metric tonnes of CO2 from entering the environment in its first year of use alone.

James Caan, UKStaff.co.uk chairman and Dragon’s Den personality, says: “I am passionate about the environment and committed to ensuring my companies, such as UKStaff.co.uk, innovate in a bid to sustain and protect our environment.

“All people-based small and medium-sized businesses should take note and act now to slash their carbon footprint.”

Azmat Mohammed, chief executive of UKStaff.co.uk, adds: “Our use of this technology shows our commitment to the environment and future generations, while illustrating the potential of this new wave of carbon efficient computing. Added to that, we will also cut our energy bills by 50% and our IT support bills by 90%, so I can’t see a downside to taking this route.”
