A quarter of Jobcentre Plus offices are now using a career advice and guidance service launched by financial services recruiter and training company Verridian.

A quarter of Jobcentre Plus offices are now using a career advice and guidance service launched by financial services recruiter and training company Verridian.

The website, www.startallover.com, has been contracted for use by the Department for Work and Pensions as part of the government’s efforts to tackle white-collar unemployment.

There are now more than 118, 000 white-collar workers claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance - up from 46,000 in the past 12 months, according to official figures.

The website offers individuals and businesses considering redundancies advice and guidance on all aspects of outplacement and career management.

Members have access to several online tools ranging from CV writing, aptitude tests, interview advice, advice on strengths and development areas through to advice on potential new careers.

Bills Haynes, chief executive of Verridian, told Recruiter, says: “I am delighted that our new online CV improvement service startallover.com has been contracted for use in Jobcentre Plus by the Department of Work and Pensions.

“Feedback from users has been outstanding.”
