The Wynnwith Group, which specialises in the aerospace, defence, aviation and rail sectors, is hoping to emulate the improved high levels of traffic achieved through search engine marketing and optimisation in its new search and selection portal for permanent staffing at www.wynnwith-perm.com.

Since working with the e-recruitment specialist and managed service supplier, Optimal Internet, Wynnwith chief executive Julian Morison told Recruiter that in the period December 2006 to October 2007, its wynnwith.com site has had well over 3,000 candidate registrations. "This is far more than we could have expected before when there was nothing really behind the site," he said.

Similar work on its flight crew division, which places pilots, has also had an impact. "This site has received 13,000 visitors, 951 candidate registrations and made 41 placements. In a candidate-short market, this is very good," said Morison.

Morison added that it has also worked with Optimal on the appearance of the new site to make it look "more glossy". As well as posting positions, the site gives employers the ability to fully document their requirements, while candidates are offered advice on writing their CVs and given guidance on interview techniques.
