As a developing nation, Kenya’s recruitment industry too can very much be labelled as ‘developing’ – but this lack of sophistication can perhaps work to its advantage, Sue Withers, owner of Nairobi’s Summit Recruitment and Training suggests to Recruiter.

Withers, who set up the business four and a half years ago, says that as far as recruitment goes, “they’re rather behind Europe or some more developed countries… it becomes way more sophisticated in Europe”, in terms of technology and methods used.

However, she says that this means she works by “going back to basics, [which] I think in some ways is more thorough”.

Withers was speaking to Recruiter for the Global Spotlight on Kenya in the latest edition of the magazine, out last week and available online here.
