Mon, 21 Jan 2013When building up a team in India, employers may find themselves needing to over hire as the offer-to-joining ratio in the country is relatively low.
This is according to Marie Moynihan, the vice president for talent acquisition at computing firm Dell, who tells Recruiter: “Candidates will shop their offer around, so the offer-to-joining ratio is significantly lower in India and in some other developing markets.
“We certainly experience that, and all of our competitors experience that so sometimes you have to over hire a little bit,” she concludes, giving a ballpark joining rate of 80% from the offers given out.
Dell employs 25,000 in India, which equates to over a fifth of its global workforce.
