Jobs.co.nz shuts down job board in move away from ‘tradition’
Jobs.co.nz has shut down “the public-facing side to our job board” in what chief executive officer Ben Irving calls “part of an intentional shift away from a job board into a full-service social recruitment agency”.
Irving explains: “We are told time and time again by clients that they would like to reduce their investment in traditional job advertising such as job board and bulk listings.
“We believe the quality of candidates found through social avenues will soon replace the outdated job board functionality and will eventually be a more effective recruitment method.”
The New Zealand firm was founded in February 2010, with the job board itself launched in September of that year, before turning in a “new social direction” last November – the end of which process sees the closing of its job site. The company now describes itself as “a creative agency for recruitment innovation”.
