The Metropolitan Police is to investigate claims that police co-operated to blacklist a total of 3,213 construction workers on a list that was maintained by a company called the Consulting Association and used by over 40 construction companies.
This is according to several national news outlets. The Metropolitan Police’s press office did not answer several calls made this morning from Recruiter to clarify the situation.
Worker information on the blacklist included personal details and trade union activity.
The investigation has been launched by the Met, under the supervision of the Independent Police Complaints Commission, after it initially appeared the claims would not be investigated.
