Social and digital media recruiter CloudNine is to merge with business support recruiter Angela Mortimer.

Writing on his blog ‘The Recruitment Misfit’ Steve Ward, owner of CloudNine, says the merger, due to formally take place on 12 March, is “a no brainer”.

Ward writes: “The move to align with Angela Mortimer is one that allows CloudNine to benefit from working with the extensive network of the Angela Mortimer Group companies, and particularly with marketing and media recruitment specialists Pathfinders, who are thrilled to gain the benefit of our social recruiting knowledge and extensive network.”

Ward will work alongside joint managing directors of Pathfinders, Wendy Duprey and Sue McLelland, and says the connection with Angela Mortimer is a no-brainer, given its 37-year heritage and general standards of excellence.

He continues: “On the face of it there will be little difference in the operation of CloudNine” and that it will retain “its personality, style and methodology”.

And writing on his Twitter account, Ward tweets: “It seems like a good move to maximise market presence but remain the same – albeit with a new resource.”

Duprey tells Recruiter: “We are keen to build our presence in the digital market. Pathfinders already has a strong digital recruitment arm, and we feel Steve Ward’s expertise in the social media field will complement this really well.”
